“The Science and Spiritual Practice of Meditation”

Cindy and Marilyn co-lead the Thursday Drop-In Meditation Group. They will describe the science behind meditation; overview the range of traditions and approaches; and give you a chance to try some of the meditation practices they do on Thursday nights.

Marilyn believes that gathering with others and being grounded by meditation are building blocks for personal well-being and social activism. She loves hosting soup nights with her wife Lynn; gardening; and traveling with daughter Katy and Katy’s partner Evan. She has intermittently dabbled in Buddhist, MBSR, and HeartMath meditation practices since 2005 and has been a UU since 2002. Cindy is a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in La Crosse. She also does workshops and presentations on a variety of mindfulness strategies and practices. She actively uses meditation and other mindfulness practices in her therapy practice and her own personal life. She is the parent of 3 adult children and grandparent to 3 grandchildren.
