“Self Compassion as a Spiritual Practice”

Life is full of challenges. When our friends or family face difficulties we easily respond toward them with kindness and compassion. Yet we are often harsh and unkind toward ourselves when we face challenges. In this service we will discover how we can use the research and practice of self compassion to be kinder and gentler with ourselves, and to cultivate this as a daily spiritual practice.

Cindy has been a member of UU La Crosse for the past 20 years, since she moved to La Crosse from Ladysmith, WI where she raised her three children. Currently she is also the grandmother of 2 granddaughters ages 3 years and 8 months. She is a marriage and family therapist in private practice, where she sees couples, families and individuals using mindfulness based psycho-therapy. She has a regular meditation practice and tries her best to practice self compassion.
