Deborah Buffton has been participating in regular peace vigils for over 25 years. In this talk she reflects on why she has continued to vigil over the years, what it means to her, and some of the lessons and gifts that she has received from it.
Deborah has been trying to figure out why people engage in the madness of war for most of her life. She taught courses in Asian and European History as well as Peace and War, and Nonviolent Resistance Movements at UWL for 33 years. Among other things, she is on the Board of the Peace History Society and the Wisconsin Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies.
