We are in a time when LGBTQ+ individuals and their families are once again caught in the center of the culture wars. Over the past fifty years, Queer singers and Queer choruses have been voices of hope, comfort, and courage. In this second of a two-part presentation on the power of song in social movements, we will explore the unique role of LGBTQ+ choruses in promoting human rights and social inclusion. Rev. Greg will share some of his own experiences over twenty years of singing in the Gay Men’s Choruses of the Twin Cities, Washington DC, and New York City. We will also be meeting and hearing past, present, and emerging voices in Queer music – and singing some of their songs!
