“Buddhist Perspectives of God” with Shoken Winecoff

Through human history there have been myriad notions about the nature of an infinite being.  The Buddha himself never claimed any divine inspiration nor personal divinity.  We will explore his perspectives.

Shoken Winecoff is an ordained Buddhist monk in the Soto Zen tradition.  They are an abbot of Ryumonji Zen Monastery in northeast Iowa near Decorah, IA.  Shoken has been a Soto Zen monk for over 40 years, and was ordained by Rev. Dainin Katagiri, who founded the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center and studied in Japan for three years at Zuioji Zen Monastery.
