“A Terrible Thing Happened: Helping People Through Trauma” with Nicole Milliren

Nicole will briefly discuss her work in the La Crosse and surrounding areas for the past 30 with those who have experienced trauma. Nicole uses trauma informed care and a relationship based approached called Circle of Security ® to help people understand what has happened to them that impacts who they are today, how they think and how they behave.

Nicole Milliren, M.S. LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her focus is brain development, Trauma Informed Care and attachment disruptions over the lifespan of children. Nicole has a master’s degree in Counseling. She is constantly learning and searching for information and research to support and strengthen families raising children with emotional and behavioral needs. Nicole previously worked in Human Services for 22 years in the roles of Parent support worker, child protection social worker and as a Clinical Therapist. She is now co-owner of Infinity Training & Consulting and full-time therapist at Peace of Mind Counseling in La Crosse Wisconsin. Nicole has received her most intense and hands on training and experience through loving and parenting two children she and her spouse adopted, one of which has significant emotional and behavioral needs. She is humbled by the support and education needed to raise children who have suffered from past trauma and developmental insults.
