February’s theme of Justice and Equity is portrayed in our highly rated movie of the month, Spotlight. In 2001, editor Marty Baron of The Boston Globe assigns a team of journalists to investigate allegations against John Geoghan, an unfrocked priest accused of molesting more than 80 boys. Critic Jennifer Bisset writes, “[It] wound gripping tension into the unglamorous legwork of journalists, played by a perfectly-balanced ensemble including Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton and Rachel McAdams.”
This movie perfectly illustrates the Angela Davis creed “I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.”
