October’s theme of Heritage led us to a great movie, Peace by Chocolate. After the bombing of the family chocolate shop in Syria, a Syrian refugee family opens a chocolate shop in Canada using their heritage as chocolatiers. Based on a true story, the film encompasses the themes of immigration, refugees from a war-torn country, the power of food to bring people together, the “Canadian Dream” of growing a small business and prospering, and choosing between your passion and your family. As Sri Ravi Shankar reminds us “The mission of your life should be to leave a better world behind than what you inherited”.
Please join us Saturday, October 7 at 4 pm for good company, a heartwarming movie and CHOCOLATE. (We have ordered some chocolate from the Peace by Chocolate factory in Canada).
