In March our theme is vulnerability.

The movie, Lion is about five year old Saroo who gets lost on a train which takes him thousands of miles across India, away from home and family. Saroo must learn to survive alone in Kolkata, before ultimately being adopted by an Australian couple.  Not only is he vulnerable as young boy, but twenty-five years later, armed with only a handful of memories  he searches for his original family, as he worries about hurting his adoptive family. Roger Ebert writes “For me, the killer moment was when the adult Saroo—finally and somewhat guiltily confesses to his Australian adoptive mother, Sue, that he has been spending countless days doing research while seeking out his birth family via Google Earth.
Wendell Berry writes. “It may be that when we no longer know what to do we have come to our real work, and that when we no longer know which way to go we have come to our real journey. The mind that is not baffled is not employed. The impeded stream is the one that sings.”
Join us on Saturday,  March 4, at 4 pm in the Fellowship.  Great seats, fantastic company and tasty popcorn!
