Renewal is January’s theme. It is one aspect of the repair of the world and self. This month’s movie considers renewal through the art of meditation. Doing Time, Doing Vipassana is a documentary which takes viewers into India’s largest prison, one of the toughest in the world, and documents the dramatic change in both inmates and guards brought about by the introduction of Vipassana meditation. This award-winning film is beautifully shot and also presents the inner journey travelled during a Vipassana course and examines the technique in more detail.
