Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche was the founder of the Shambhala lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and was one of the early teachers to bring Buddhism to the west.  He was a gifted meditation practitioner and brilliant at transmitting the practice of meditation using images and analogies that make sense to westerners.  The unique feature of Shambhala Buddhism is a vision not only of personal awakenment but of awakening society itself!  Especially in these times when human communities are in the grips interrelated crises, this is really useful news.    
Meditation in Everyday Life (MIEL) provides a foundation in the view of Basic Goodness, the perspective that grounds meditation practice, and the technique of mindfulness-awareness meditation itself.  Each session will involve meditation practice, a brief talk, and group conversation.  The group is an essential part of the teaching-learning environment.

Unitarian Universalism and Shambhala Buddhism share many common values.  You might find that the teachings and practices of meditation enable you to live your Unitarian Universalist values and vision more deeply. 
Ann Tyndall served as a Unitarian Universalist minister for 20 plus years and more recently has been a Shambhala Buddhist practitioner.  She is an authorized meditation instructor in the Shambhala lineage and is ordained by Shambhala as well.  She is especially gifted at bridging Unitarian Universalism and Buddhist teachings and practice.
