Notice of Annual Congregational Meeting

11:30 am – 1 pm  via Zoom

Dear Fellowship Members & Friends,

This is the formal call to the Annual Meeting of the UU Fellowship of La Crosse, which will be held on Sunday, May 2nd, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm on Zoom.

Meeting ID:  959 7217 0445
Passcode:  MemberVote

We are asking our VOTING MEMBERS to make sure that Zoom is updated so that votes can easily be counted. We also ask that when you enter the meeting, you rename yourself with your full first and last name (in the case of couples, please try to fit both names). Friends are welcome to attend but will be asked to turn off their camera during the voting to assist with counting votes. We do need a quorum of 25% of voting members in order to vote on Fellowship business.

A key element of the meeting will be voting on for our Board of Trustees.

The proposed slate moves us from a board of 7 members to a board of 8 members. You will note that a current staff member is on the slate; in keeping with our policies she will resign her position before taking office.

The following positions will be voted upon during the election.

  1. President

  2. Vice-President

  3. Treasurer

  4. Member-at-Large

  5. Member-at-Large

  6. Member-at-Large

Please note the following so that our voting and counting can go as easily as possible in the virtual format:

  1. As Board President, I will share the Nominating Committee’s recommendations for the full slate of candidates and then I will open the meeting up for nominations from the floor.

  2. Each position will be voted upon separately with a simple majority of votes determining the winner. Members will be asked to indicate their vote for a candidate by

           a. (Preferred method) – choosing the “reaction” button and clicking on the green checkmark

           b. Raising their hand in real life

           c. Putting their name in the chat box

           d. Speaking their name and their vote for the candidate.
(this will also work for people using their phone to join the meeting.

In cases where two voting members are sharing a screen, please make separate entries in the chat box to indicate the votes for each individual.

Each year, our Social & Environmental Justice Team plans a congregational outreach activity for the upcoming year. The Social & Environmental Justice Team Chair, David Boen, will provide an overview and entertain discussion.

We will have brief reports from our Teams about the past year and then we will use the rest of the meeting to recognize our outgoing staff, Donna, Emmy, Giorgia, and Jen and to thank our teams and outgoing board members.

I look forward to seeing each of you as we support the business of being a fellowship.

In Fellowship,

Marilyn Huckenpoehler, Board President
