Music Director (Part Time – Flexible Hours)

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of La Crosse, a dynamic liberal religious fellowship, seeks a part-time Music Director. The Music Director is responsible for planning and providing music two Sundays a month. They will lead (and rehearse) the choir and provide accompaniment for these services. Choir practice usually takes place before service begins. Services take place 10 AM – 11:30 AM.

Exact weekly hours will vary depending on programming and are flexible, but the Music Director will work 16 hours each month in order to plan and provide music for the two scheduled Sundays for a total of 160 hours/year. Pay is $22.70/hr. There is a small budget for additional musicians and a substitute accompanist, if needed.

Candidates should have experience in performing live music, working with a choir, and an ability to work collaboratively. We have a large UU musical library available to select music from, and the Music Director will coordinate with the Sunday Service & Music Team and presenters in order to choose music. Extensive knowledge of Unitarian Universalism is not required at the time of hire, but a willingness to develop an understanding of UU values and music is expected. Musician (Part Time – Flexible Hours)

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of La Crosse, a dynamic liberal religious fellowship, seeks a part-time Musician. The Musician is responsible for providing music two Sundays a month. They will participate with the choir on occasion and provide accompaniment for these services. When scheduled the Choir practices usually take place before service begins. Services take place 10 AM – 11:30 AM. The Musician will be expected to arrive and prepare for the service by 9:30 am at the latest.

Exact weekly hours will vary depending on programming and are flexible, but the Musician will work up to 16 hours each month in order to plan and provide music for the two scheduled Sundays. Pay is $19/hour. There is a small budget for additional musicians and a substitute accompanist, if needed.

Child Care Staff (Part Time – Flexible Schedule)

We are currently accepting applications for child care staff to work on Sunday mornings starting in September. These staff (must be over the age of 18) can sign up to work on Sunday mornings from 9:45 AM – 11:45 AM (2 hours) to provide child care during Sunday service. There may also be opportunities to provide child care during the week for special events! Pay is $15/hour. We provide flexible schedules, and most holiday weekends there are no services. Summers off!
