Sister Karen Lueck will present timely themes from her latest book, The Green Thread: Reclaiming Our Spiritual Authority. Drawing on her own background, Sister Karen will share the importance of claiming our own stories, and understanding how shame, intergenerational trauma, and cultural and religious suppression shape us. She will confront the complicated legacy of Christianity, how systems like Christian nationalism distort Jesus’ teachings and silence the very people called to claim their power and lead with compassion.
Karen Lueck is a Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration. She has spent much of her life trying to recognize the goodness in herself and others, through her ministries as a teacher and principal, mental health counselor, spiritual director, leader of her religious community, and now author.
