“One Truth or Many?” with Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar

In today’s pre-recorded sermon, Rev. Dr. Marlin Lavanhar asks “If there are many truths, then what does truth even mean?” It makes a big difference if a person believes there is only one truth or there are many truths. Can something be true to one person or in one place or in one time and then be untrue to someone else in another place and another time? Is everything relative? Or is there a central truth we can always count on? Join us as we unpack these complex questions with Dr. Rev. Lavanhar. This sermon was originally delivered on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Rev . Marlin Lavanhar grew up in Highland Park, IL. He was ordained a UU minister in 1999. Since 2000 he has been the Senior Minister of All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, OK. With almost 2,000 members, it is the largest UU church in the United States. In 2010 he received the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the United Nations Office for his work to help end the persecution of gay and lesbian people in Uganda, Africa.
