Pastor Jim Arends has served as bishop of the La Crosse Area Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for twelve years and will retire at the end of 2020. He has served four Minnesota parishes He earned his M.Div from Luther Seminary in St. Paul and his B.A. from Augsburg College in Minneapolis. He and Lynn have been married for 47 years. They have four adult children, three daughters-in-law and six grandchildren. He’s loved his life so far and looks forward to retirement.
